CORONAVIRUS -   MAS DES ETOILES , HEATED LARGE SWIMMING POOL AND HIGH SPEED INTERNET EVERYWHERE,  April 4, 2021 - UPDATE.

This is our last update for 2021 : We are on September 16.

In June we had written "Now can expect strong improvements in the COVID situation with most tourism activities back to normal, by steps, to the end of June. And July-August, almost normal. " 

The prediction came on true ! We have made a superb summer. July and August have been optimal. Now, 100% of our guests do have a vaccination certificate on hand. And it is no more necessary to wear a mask, while on the property.

What happened really, is that we mostly lost all our guests coming from the US, Canada, Brazil and the UK. This was offset by, first the French, then Belgium, 

We have maintained the same policies as in 2020.

1- For the cancellations, we have relocated our time limit  for CANCELLATIONS AT NO CHARGE at 30 days but with a cancellation fee not above 50%  And this applicable on every booking platform we are working with  ( Mas des Etoiles, Booking.com, Expedia).  We will refund 100% in the case the guests get confined at their home ( For instance, Paris...) or more simply if they are unable to travel to Luberon or Provence. And this, for the entire season to Octobre 2021.

2- For safety reasons, we can consider that our guests have very  little or no opportunity to have unpleasant encounters as the premises are pretty large. Also, more and more people will be vaccinated. Myself and the key personnel of the B&B have been 100%. On the other hand, we are going to expect Vaccine Certificates,   valid for every touchy locations such as restaurants etc ... However, as the risks still exist with vaccinated people, we are asking the guests to wear masks whenever necessary.

From 2021,  we now have several great features that our guests like very much  :

- A double Air-Cooling system ( By the floor or classical) , very flexible and effective in the warm summers. And this, every where.

- Hi-speed WIFI, in every room and in the entire garden with specific quiet spots to work.

- Our very  large swimming pool ( 5 X 12 meters ) is now heated ( operational since March 20, 2021). We currently have a 6 Celsius degrees improvement, and it is going up)

- A co-working center with all necessary equipment ( Scanner, Printer, Macbook ...) . Several co-working independant locations either outside or quiet offices in the main house.

- A very large parking lot behind the house, which puts your nice car into safety. Free of charge.

- We also have improved the quietness and the views on the immediate surrounding mountains. We really are in the countryside and there are gorgeous walks just behind our ( your) property : For instance,  Senanque Abbey, less than two hours.

As for COVID19, France situation is quite improving.  Manuy restrictions are getting  cancelled  : For instance the resturants are re-opening to-day .May 19, 2021. We had  re-opened for Easter holidays  and the Ascension Day long week-end.  As restaurants were totally closed, our guests had there meals here art their satisfaction. There are still actually very few tourists coming from our usual partners ( UK, Germany, Belgium etc ...). We are keeping  a reasonable level with French, mostly from the Paris area.

Last year, we were under similar circumstances and finally we could open the B&B only by the last week of June. Afterwards, we had brilliant July and August. Th threat came back in September and then we were obliged to close.

Anyway, we learnt how to protect our guests and this had been pretty effective. Our personel is wearing masks and social distancing is OK. This year, we are going to check the status of all our incoming guests so as to adapt  the protections. Our guess is that many people will be vaccinated and that we are going to have testing outfits available here.

For a few weeks, we have enlarged our hi-speed Internet Fiber Network. It is entirely operational on the whole house ( all the rooms) and most parts of the surrounding garden, including the pool area. Speed in wifi is in the range 50-100 kps. Our guests are real happy with that.

Now, we have more and more guests who enjoy the new system to stay conncected with their business.

Some comments from hosts who just left us :  "We had a great rest at Mas des Etoiles. Much better than we had expected. Your swimming pool is gorgeous. We slept very well . Your mattresses are excellent. Where did you buy them ? The best in your place is the beauty of the house, large spaces and the overall quietness. As for your breakfast, a real achievement. We expect to come back very soon."

On the pool heating system : It proved to be very efficient. Temps are at 27-29 Celsius on a permanent basis.

Dear Friends : 

Mas des Etoiles is pretty safe and it is not difficult to reach a proper level of protection. 

• The first point is that most rooms enjoy an independent access. The parking lot is very large and there is not much way to have probelems here.
• We clean every room before arrival and try to re-do the cleaning at best  every morning
• Arrival have been set at 15 h 30, and not before , to let the personnel do their job properly. Of course, exceptions are possible, on prior request.
• In your rooms, we will use gloves and masks.
• A distance between people of 1 meter is recommended.
• Breakfasts normally are served in the dining area with different set-ups.
• Usually, we don't serve meals but there is a restaurant just across the street ( L'Estellan).
  • We also offer picinic baskets. We also can make the arrangements for Uber Eats accomodation. We have a list of various possibilities around here.
• All equipment is cleaned regularly.
• And we provide you with all the necessary disinfection outfits.
